Code BA121017863: Expedition Compass in Wood Box c. 1870

This is a nice English wood cased compass in dating from around 1870. The case is very well made, with brass hinges and a hook to keep it closed. It has a flat glass crystal that covers the dial. The crystal is in excellent condition without chips or scratches. The needle has a brass cap. It is blue with S and N engraved to each side. It has some spots of rust. It has a transit lock when the lid is closed. The compass is in working order and finds North easily. It measures 56 mm x 56 mm x 21 mm. |
