This is a
nice original miniature gimbaled ships compass
dating from c. 1870. It has a
typically Singer Patent style dial. The Dial measures 40 mm across. The case is made
of brass. It has gimbals around the compass body allowing it to swing in
any direction. The brass has some marks of aging.
The compass comes in its original square wood box.
The compass is working perfectly and the gimbals allow it to swing freely.
The wood box is in excellent condition. The cover is also present and
slides in and out as it should. No damage. It measures 77x77x44 mm. This compass is very rare and would
make a great add to any collection. |
