This a nice leather cased compass dating back to circa 1880. It has a nice dial typically of late 1800 era and signed with maker name CHADBURN & SON, LIVERPOOL. It has a blue needle with letters N (North) and S (South). The compass is in excellent working order and finds North easily and precisely. The compass is fitted in a nice brown leather case with dark blue velvet inside and still in excellent condition without any damage. The hook is present and the lid closes and opens as it should. The inner compass measures 35mm in diameter and the leather outer case measures 41mm in diameter. Very nice and quality compass. |
