Code BA131020600: ALIDADE General PEIGNE French Sundial Compass, c. 1916
| This is a nice wooden French ALIDADE compass with Colonel Peigné system and manufactured by Delagrave in Paris. It was made around 1916 as can be seen on the dial. The wood case is in excellent condition as can be seen in the pictures with full instructions of use in French (very detailed). The mirror is intact on this example (very often the mirror is cracked on these compasses). The compass has a flat needle that can be locked by turning the knob next to the crystal. It has also a clinometer hand. The dial is in excellent condition and signed. The compass finds North precisely and easily. The lid opens and closes as it should. Very nice compass in great condition. It comes in its original box. Dimensions : 9,5cm X 9,5cm X 3cm. |
