This is WW1 Verners pattern MKVIImilitary marching compass with leather case, dated 1915. Marked ANGLO-SWISS ASSOCIATION with serial no 34146, and military arrow /|\. Has the traditional mother of pearl dial, for low light reading with the orange direction arrow intact. The brass lid has a nice strong hinge. Has brass knob on the side for transit locking of dial. The compass has also a magnifying prism for precise angles calculation (for target engagement). The leather case is in great condition without damage and opens and closes as it should. This is a fine example by a quality maker. Size 5.4cm diameter.
