Code BA23060101: WWI Canadian Military Issue Aurapole Compass, c. 1915
| This is an Aurapole compass made by Taylor around 1915. It is a Canadian Military Issue and has a militay arrow inside the letter C for Canada. It has jeweled bearing. Marked AURAPOLE, Short & Mason, Taylor-Rochester, NY, PATENTS PENDING on dial, which is in excellent condition. Case is nickel and in excellent condition with slight signs of use. When the button is pressed the lid springs open as it should. The hinge is strong and transit lock is functional. The glass crystal is in excellent condition. No damage. In perfect working order and finds magnetic North easily. Size 4.5cm diameter. |
